Superintendent Message

I am amazed at how quickly the school year is passing.  Now that we have entered the winter season, I want to remind you that there will be times of late starts, early dismissals, or full day closing due to weather.  Keep in mind that it is more common to have a delay rather than a full day closing.  The delay allows extra time to clear the roadways or temperatures to rise. An important  point to remember is that salt cannot be used on dirt roadways.  Cinders and/or sand can be applied, but often have a difficult time on ice.  There may be times when our bus contractors are unable to travel on a section of their bus route due to weather conditions. Please keep in mind that the safety of all our students is a priority and will do our best to make alternative arrangements, if necessary.

On another note, I want to take time to thank all of the people who support this wonderful school district on a regular basis. Whether it is volunteering in a classroom, a parent working in a concession stand or a community member supporting the students at their music performances, athletic events or other academic activities, you make this place even more special. Thanks for all you

do!

Finally, it is hard to believe that we are halfway through the 2018-2019 school year. It is very important that parents and teachers communicate regularly. It is our hope that through this home/school partnership approach students will succeed and reach their full potential in the classroom.

As always, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. You can reach me in the District Office at 570-724-0303.
